Traditional Chinese medicine is already used commonly for aquatic animals to reduce stress and strengthen their immunity. After a series of detailed studies, Prof. Li Kangmin from Wuxi, China now proposes to use these therapeutic agents in the fishfarms.

Doctors in Europe and America are still reluctant to apply traditional Chinese medicine in diverse serious human diseases due to difficulties in scientific provableness. Yet in aquaculture the advantages are obvious: the natural ingredients do not cause any unwanted consequences and are 100% degradable within the body. Last but not least their price is as few as 1/10 of what would be the cost for Western medicine.
